My friend and I had requested plates and a corkscrew and waited almost 3 hours. We had to call more than once so finally we went downstairs and just asked for them again which took a few seconds. Why we couldn't just get them in the first place I have no idea. Overall besides that the stay was great. Ameristar is able to host weddings in several venues, the largest of which is the 11,817-square-foot Discovery Ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,600 guests for a reception. There are also smaller venues spread throughout the resort Packages that include catering menus, drinks and more are available, and on-site wedding planners can help couples plan wedding details. Rocky Mountains just a twenty minute drive from Golden Colorado is the beautiful town of Black Hawk. Founded in 1859 during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush, Blackhawk is rich in history and charm. In 1991 gambling was legalized and casinos have made it a wonderful weekend getaway destination. Blackhawk is now the largest gambling town in Colorado with 18 casinos many of which are open 24 hours a day.A  recent visit Ameristar Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk and was pleasantly surprising. Ameristar is an incredible, luxurious resort, spa and casino. Despite being a large casino you immediately feel a sense of calm when you enter the property. I really enjoyed were the adult only hours at the pool. From 9pm-11pm every night the pool and rooftop is a kid free zone, which is great if you want to relax in the hot tubs without getting splashed. Dinner at Fireside Kitchen is cozy and quiet spot for a great tasting dinner and the service was wonderful. The casino offers more than 1,450 slot machines including reels, video reels and video poker. There are also 33 table games including blackjack, roulette and craps along with 17 poker tables.I’m personally not much of a gambler. I try the table games and I can’t keep up but I do love the casino atmosphere and trying my luck on the slots. I had an eighty minute hot stone massage that was heavenly. Another great feature of the spa was that you can enjoy the facilities all day before and after your treatment. You can even leave for lunch and come back to enjoy the spa later in the day. It is a great way to wind down after hitting the slopes or hitting the slots. From the free Wi-Fi and parking to the extraordinary customer service it was pleasantly surprising.
