I worked for the casino but after having an injury the job requirements changed and I was no longer eligible to continue to work in the same position. Rivers don't realize how stressful their employees can get with dealing with the customers, I guess it comes with the environment. Sometimes I don't think upper management appreciate our hard work and patience. Employees at Rivers provide the top customer service and still manages to get cursed out by the customers and I don't think upper management knows how that feel. Sometimes I want to quit because the customers are really harsh, but I have no other options. I have written incidents reports on a couple of customers and based on the status of their cards they are still allowed there and I don't believe that's fair.I worked at Rivers for 7+ years opening a couple different restaurants on property. I was passed up on promotions because i didnt play into the favoritism routine. I was targeted by management after i voiced my opinion about feeling mistreated. Rivers Casino for my Job tilt was one of the better position in the casino, But as far as advancement, job where limited for opportunities to move up in the company .Fast paced environment I learned time management and improved organizational skills. Management was composed of friends and family. My coworkers were friendly for the time that they stayed . High turnover due to attendance policy. Company runs on a point system therefore must arrive before or on time otherwise are penalized up to termination. Prior to shift are work meetings to educate employees on up-to date events and other need to know information. Once done, the bag must be locked and opened by a supervisor upon arrival at the bar. Bar duties are listed in resume. Coworkers are very nice. most enjoyable part of the job is interacting with the patron. Its always something going on, bands, a game, machines ringing. He wants everyone to enjoy coming to work and make sure that rubs off on to the customers. It was evident in all of the employees.I walk around the floor for 8 hours attending to guests needs with slot machines. You never see management nor do they listen to your opinion. Hardest part of my job is the ability to help guests issues that I don't know. In training we are supposed to contact our manager or the other departments manager to figure out the issue for the guest but often the guest is left there with no answer.
