Being a security officer meant doing certain tasks that require you to be in service of the whole casino but certain policies were for the entire casino but not enforced by every department, putting extra work and responsibility on the officers to handle. I don't recommend working there as security unless you are a retiree and looking to only do the bare minimum. It is a place where you feel you work for nothing, especially since they froze the wage increases. Seems as though the work load is more for the cheap pay we receive. However, it is a fun environment with the workers who make it happen, and all the guests who come to the casino to play, and stay at the hotel. The management wasn't perfect and they weren't really fair, for example, if one employee messed up in my department, then everyone suffered and dealt with the consequences. The co-workers are diverse and come from a wide variety of backgrounds, so it can be very fun and unique, but at times ideals may clash. The most enjoyable part of working there is meeting and interacting with different people including guests and co-workers, it makes every work day unpredictable, challenging and stimulating.I liked that you were able to take your tips home everyday. The customers were very nice once you won them over but you did come across some ridiculously rude people on a consistently regular basis.
