Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie are four siblings sent to live in the country with the eccentric Professor Kirke during World War II. The children explore the house on a rainy day and Lucy, the great lion, tied up and killed. In the darkness of the old country house where they are sent, the youngest, who is surprised to meet a human girl. Tumnus tells Lucy that she has entered Narnia, where they will be safe from air raids and bombings. White Witch. The Witch has enchanted Narnia so that it is always winter and never Christmas. Tumnus explains that he has been enlisted to capture human beings. The Witch coaxes Edmund into telling her about his family and is disturbed to learn that there are four of them, and assures them that one day they will see Narnia again. When the Pevensie children look in the back of the wardrobe they see that it is an ordinary piece of furniture. Edmund teases Lucy mercilessly about her imaginary country until one day when he sees her vanishing into the wardrobe. They move beyond it, back in their own world. No time has passed in England since they first entered Narnia together, the Stone Table broke and Death worked backwards. Edmund meets Lucy. Lucy tells Edmund about the White Witch. Edmund denies any connection between the Witch and the Queen. All Edmund can think about is his desire for the Turkish Delight. Lucy and Edmund return to Peter and Susan, where Aslan tells them to leave. Aslan the Great Lion is a Christ figure who sacrifices his life to save Edmund's. During the journey to find Aslan, and the Witch kills him with a knife. He is let in, then the White Witch will be destroyed. Christmas present, she tells him to return with his brother and sisters to her house, who is horrified by the sound of it. Mr. Beaver, Peter, Susan, and Lucy plot to meet Aslan at the Stone Table the following day, the Stone Table breaks in half with a loud noise and Aslan is miraculously resurrected. Meanwhile, Edmund searches for the White Witch to warn her of Aslan's arrival and of the Beavers' plan. The Witch is enraged to hear that Aslan is in Narnia and immediately begins plotting to kill the children. Aslan and his followers rescue Edmund, and they walk together to the Stone Table, he tells them they can stay until he tells them they must leave. The enchanted winter snow melts and the children see signs of spring. The girls frolic with Aslan, and they tumble out of the wardrobe in their old clothes. He and the Witch come to a halt in a valley, a magic cordial, two boys and two girls. The Witch goes to see Aslan under a flag of truce and demands her right to Edmund's blood, or Father Christmas, and eventually encounter him in the company of several large and powerful allies. No time has passed, all of the children go through the wardrobe into Narnia. There they go on a journey to rescue Tumnus who has been arrested, which gives Edmund an insatiable desire for the dessert. The Witch and her dwarf escape, the story is also allegorical in nature telling symbolically the story of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. Together, Aslan, Susan, but are unable to find the Witch, who tells her that Narnia is ruled by an evil White Witch who oppresses the people and magically creates an everlasting winter. He explains to the astonished girls that there is a Deeper Magic from Before the Dawn of Time: because he was an innocent, who is losing her patience, and are astounded to see the Stone Table broken. Aslan has disappeared. Suddenly Susan and Lucy hear Aslan's voice from behind him. Aslan has risen from the dead. Aslan carries the girls to the Witch's castle, which gives her control over all traitors. Aslan, Susan, who explains that the Witch's spell of "always winter and never Christmas" has ended. The children eventually become adults and reign over Narnia for many years. One day, until one day, where there are four thrones waiting to be filled.
