The game we've all been waiting for. I found myself waking up, watering plants, then going to sleep until the next day, rinse and repeat. HM games, you just sell them for next to nothing, better off spending money farming. I got the money to buy one it wouldn't give me milk, even after getting its happiness up to a certain point there was still nothing. I no longer see any game breaking bugs, sure some bugs that require you to save and restart, but nothing that kills your save files anymore, at least that hurdle was jumped over.I love the Harvest Moon and Rune Factory games. Even paid top dollar for the original SNES cartridge which I still have and can play today. I was really excited about this game until I purchased it and actually played it. Seems to have a lot of potential but sooo many bugs that it's unplayable. September 2015, Nightdive released System Shock: Enhanced Edition. The re-release was met with acclaim from fans and the gaming media. System shock 2 is nearly as old as me. The graphics are very outdated, the hitboxes of enemies are really wonky, and there is an absurd amount of backtracking. This is easily in my top 5 favorite games of all time. The atmosphere and characters are designed so well. Its blend of FPS and RPG gameplay, as well as its organic storytelling, is hard to find in most games today. Also, this game is challenging. It does not hold your hand. It shows you how easy games are nowadays. Bioshock is said to be the spiritual successor of System Shock 2. That is clearly the case. Many components of System Shock 2 are the exact same in BioShock. For example: the wrench, the psi powers, the upgrade machines, and even some pieces of the story. When it first came out in 1999, it was met with a lot of praise from the gaming press, winning over a dozen awards, including several “Game of the Year” titles, and since then it has appeared on several “Greatest Games of All Time” lists. The success Irrational Games has had with BioShock and BioShock: Infinite has interested people enough to want to check out System Shock 2, which was the first game Irrational created. This is great news, because while you might not expect it, I feel that System Shock 2 is the best of all the “Shock” games. Faster Than Light starship the Von Braun as well as the UNN heavy destroyer the Rickenbacker which was tethered to the Von Braun so it could make the FTL jumps as well. You, the player, wake up from Cryo Sleep 5 months after the ship has left earth. You spend much of the game trying to figure out what exactly happened while you were sleeping, getting ship systems back up and running, and coming up with a plan to stay alive. The ships are broken up into decks (medical, engineering, hydroponics, operations, etc), and each of those decks are broken up into sectors that are separated by bulkheads which often require keycards to access. You are always free to move back and forward between decks and sectors you have gained access to. The game treats the ships as one large persistent game world. For example, if you come across some heavy armor that you do not have the required strength to equip, you can always come back to it later once you have the required stats. RPG like system that determines what you can and cannot do. As you complete objectives, you are granted access to “Cybernetic Modules” that you use to upgrade your cybernetic implants. You spend these points at upgrade stations around the ship. There are four main categories of upgrades: stats, psi, weapons, and tech. Stats include things like strength, endurance, and agility. The weapons category contains sub-categories such as standard weapons, heavy weapons, and energy weapons. The tech category is where you find the skills associated with hacking, repairing, and modifying. The Psi category has five separate tiers of power, which need not be learned in order. It's chilling and unnerving in a way that messes with your head, transcending its own existence into something that feels tangible; too close for comfort and so well crafted it causes you to second guess your own instincts that this is nothing but fantasy. Up to this point you've been bustled along through this story with little in the way of explanation or reason. It's artistically brilliant and frightening to be sure, but all the same largely disconnected and without any real purpose, meant to alarm but ultimately lacking any substance. It's not then until you begin to walk again and the curtain is pulled away that the pieces fall into place and the true meaning behind your circumstances become clear.
