Paragon Casino Resort RV Park

paragon casino marksville la rv park

Description

One of the best campgrounds we've been to. All sites are pull-thru with a tree, grass, concrete pad and patio with table and benches. The park is a ways from the casino entrance, but there is a free shuttle that comes through the park every 5 to 10 minutes. When the park is full, the internet can be useless and the park can be unsafe due to speeders and reckless golf cart drivers. Nice pool. Could use a water fountain or vending machines that work. Good golf course that was very well kept. Good, free wifi. Clear TV reception. We are not gamblers but did go to the casino to eat at the buffet. It was okay but we might try something else next time. Overall a very good experience and we will definitely return. We camped at Paragon Casino Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.I had to backtrap 75 miles to here after arriving late outside Natchez, MS and being unable to secure a rental. Most places I called were closed, no concessions made for next morning payment, and the places that did answer seemed uninterested in one overnight stay. The Paragon answered and did not disappoint. I prepaid and the attendent on duty made arrangements with security for my late night arrival. The park was spacious, modern, pet friendly, with full hookups. I considered this stay worth the amount I paid. I would stay there again. We camped at Paragon Casino Resort RV Park in a Travel Trailer.I gave this park a 9 for the size of the sites and roads. Getting into the sites is the issue. They get a 1 for the aggravation of their trees. Louisiana destinations, but worth the trip. Just avoid the backroads that apparently all GPS devices prefer, and take the main highways, even if it means a bit more travel time. The park is definitely a resort, with easy access, wide streets and large sites. Very quiet, clean and well maintained. All services worked just fine. You can walk to the casino next door, or take the complimentary shuttle. Back in and pull thru sites are long and spacious. Great amenities with a nice pool area with kid's splash pad, horseshoes, volleyball, playground area and pool tables in the clubhouse. Rental cabins also available. Free cable and wi-fi. Each site has a patio and picnic table. Park, restrooms and laundry facilities were immaculate. Short walk to the casino or free shuttle is available. The Bradford trees had beautiful fall foliage. We will return. Lots of room to maneuver any size rig. All utilities worked well. Would recommend. Security roaming all the time making us feel safe and secure. We took advantage of the seafood buffet they offer that night, it was very good. RV park was very quite, restrooms were well kept and very nice. Check in staff was very nice and friendly, looking forward to staying here again. All sites are pull-thru with a tree, grass, concrete pad and patio with table and benches. We are not gamblers but did go to the casino to eat at the buffet. The park has a water park for kids and a zip line challenge course for older kids and adults. There are three pools, two hot tubs and a covered patio. The resort has a grill service offering burgers and sandwiches, a small store, and an outside theater. All sites are on gravel with the main roads paved. There are two fishing ponds. A nearby golf course is available for 9 or 18 hole golf at a minimal cost. One concern I had was the showers. The valve to turn the water on must be pushed to allow water to come out. You cannot use both hands to wash your hair or body while the water is on. Also, you cannot regulate water temperature with these type valves. The lack of cable TV and internet is also a negative. At a cost of $45 or $50 per night, this charge is a little excessive without these amenities. There are no mature trees to offer shade for the sites. There is also no grass at the sites. The picnic tables are metal making them impossible to use on hot summer days. The staff is very friendly. There is a swimming beach and water activities. Quiet, but it is close to Alexandria for shopping. We fought no bugs at the time of our 6 day stay. They where pouring new concrete in lots of spots which was good to see. We saw lots of deer, and checked out the beaches. Wish this place was closer to home. Hope to return next year's vacation. The folks at the front gate where very friendly, and campers we met as well. Love the place. Take Exit 46 for LA 106 toward St. Landry, merge right. Follow LA-106 approx. Turn left onto LA Hwy. 29 and follow it for approx. 6 miles. You will now be in the town of Bunkie, LA. Turn left onto U.S. Hwy. 71/SW Main St. Then take 3rd right at traffic signal onto E. Church St./LA Hwy. 115. Follow Hwy. 115 for approx. Bear right onto I-49. Travel South on I-49 for 9.5 miles. Exit onto U.S. Hwy. 71S. Travel 4.5 miles, then left at LA Hwy. 3170. Travel 5.5 miles, then turn right at LA Hwy.1. Travel approximately 20 minutes. This is probably the nicest casino campground we have seen. Shuttle comes around really often if you want to take it but it is only a short walk to the casino. Secured, super clean with all the 5stars resort services. WiFi is extra but works fine. The casino buffet is excellent and the entire staff is very professional and friendly. Resort twice, both times staying in the Hotel, but looked over the RV park closely and the facilities in the RV park. It is located in the little town of Marksville, LA. not far from Alexandria, LA and Lafayette, LA. RV park is nice. an Indian res. casino.
