Cleveland vs Toledo: How Do The Casinos Stack Up?

Description

I see that you are the only casino that I have been to that charges for valet parking. We have been going to casino's in Vegas, Atlantic city, Canada and all over Michigan for over 37 years and have never paid for valet parking. Slot and video poker machines are sparkling clean . The casino is appealing to the eye as well. I have dined at 3 of 4 restaurants and the food was great. I asked to speak to a host, I was told I did not have one. I have been at the exec producer level for 6 months and according to their website, I should be assigned to one for earning this level. I complained and filled out the comment card 2 weeks ago , but still no contact from anyone. They don't understand basic customer satisfaction. Sad as I love the bldg and location. My husband & I stopped after visiting Franklin Park Mall & only wanted to stay an hour or two. I found a .25 machine that was actually paying off & then went cold so decided to pull my voucher. However, it didn't come out, so I hit service button & waited at least 15 minutes before anyone showed up. Their service guy told me he couldn't cash voucher due to needing validating so he called a manager over & they said they would return with my money. I stood there & waited over 30 min. to come back. They finally did, but offered no reason, & absolutely no compensation, not even a drink, free play, nothing for my inconvenience. I was not happy at this point & had watched someone hit on same machine making matters worse. They seem to loosen up every once in a while, but I think they are aiming for pooling the money into more large jackpots (for publicity) than spreading the winning around to more people with smaller payouts. I can. I know most people review it based only on if they won or lost. I have probably been there 6 times now, and have walked away a winner 5 of the 7. This is only playing slots. Table minimums are usually too high for my taste, but I also am use to playing in Vegas. I like the design of the place as it feels very open and spacious. One thing most of the Detroit casinos lack in my opinion. As a non smoker I enjoy a casino that is not full of smoke. The casino isn't too small or too big so it's easy to navigate around and find other people. Pretty disappointing as there are several machines I like that are only a few years old. Even though I have walked out a winner the majority of the times I do feel the slots are tighter than most other places I have visited. Especially compared to Vegas, but didn't feel it was a huge difference over most Michigan casinos. I have just been lucky and have had some decent hits that let me leave a winner from Toledo. I wish it felt like I could play longer with my money though. I certainly can understand where people are coming from with that complaint. So far I have thought the customer service has been great. Everyone has been friendly and polite (something that is lacking at Detroit casinos). I'm not a big fan of their comp system either. No sign up offers, and slow at earning comps. I do agree that so far many of the Michigan casinos have better comp systems. I only drink pop while at casinos and have found at least 3 self serve pop machines on the floor, and usually no lines. The food leaves a lot to be desired. The sports bar has a very limited selection. The buffet is priced around the same as most Michigan casinos. The grill has decent prices, but a pretty limited menu. No food court at all. I have not been to the steak house so can't say much about it either way. I don't like how the ticket machines/bill breakers only take $50 and $100 bills. While it's brand new, the slots all work, it's not crowded, easy to get into to and park, and the customer service is great, I believe the high table minimums all the time, slot selection and pay backs are all big enough downfalls to hurt this place. Cleveland casino is vertical – four floors – tucked into the heart of a downtown and is expected to see spin-off traffic. The Hollywood is all one floor, will have entertainment and dining options not found at the Horseshoe and sits in a sea of parking less than five miles from a farmer’s field. Evans squeezed in her inaugural visit to the Toledo casino recently before heading north to catch a flight out of Detroit. Opening casinos in Ohio was a good idea, she said. It adds jobs and means she can stay in state when she wants to gamble. Toledo police Capt. Brad Weis, who oversees responses to the casino, said problems diminished after the first couple of months when off-duty officers began to provide additional security. It was another historic moment for the Glass City, much like the first event held at the Huntington Center, first pitch thrown at Fifth Third Field, or the first Jeep rolling off the production line at the new Jeep assembly plant. One was given to the Boys and Girls Club of Toledo. The other was given to the local YMCA chapter.
