High Density 1" Poker Table Rail Foam

I have finally decided to start building my first poker table. Seeing as my shoulder is still out of commission I thouhgt I would start out by going to get all the lighter supplies before I buy the plywood. Do I get the green high density foam and if so what thickness do I get. Also what thickness do i use for the rails. Lux foam to give it a nice rounded look. The railing came out very nice but it was little on the high side (3/4" wood + 1" foam + 1/2" foam).The guy who runs it, Jason, is a member at Scott's Forums and has great customer service. The wood can be found at a local lumber yard, poker table felt can sometimes be found at billiard table supply stores and used billiard felt can be found at local pool halls. It can be a little difficult to do a good job on your poker table rail due to all the bending and stretching of the vinyl. Auto headliner may be purchased locally at automotive supply stores. Billiard cloth is about $100 per table if purchased new and $25-$50 if purchased used. You can try locating used billiard cloth at a local billiard table retail store, billiard hall (downtown pool hall), or at local bars & saloons. Be warned of brand new colored billiard cloth - it may stain your cards and chips. It may be purchased at many online sellers but will probably be a bit hard to find locally. This is probably the best poker table playing surface. It is a bit stiff and has a nylon/polyester feel to it. Suited Speed Cloth is coated in Teflon to repel liquids. It is available in about ten different colors for your poker table. Use a blow dryer to heat the vinyl and have more than one person available to stretch and staple. Most poker table builders seem to use Whisper or Marine vinyl. This rail is 3/4" thick, 2.5" in diameter, and is made of black rubber. After the new application, I contacted a local airbrush shop owner at the Mall of America who was confident his artists could airbrush a logo onto the surface. I asked for a small 8" x 8" logo in the exact middle of the table. The guy completely fucked it up by starting to airbrush a huge logo across the entire surface. I caught him doing this and he said he could fix it by going over it with black paint. Im doing something similar in that the rail is in two halves. I however attached a temporary brace into the rail while attaching the leather. I used a hairdryer to soften and expand the vinyl. When the vinyl cools, it will contract pulling the vinyl even tighter. You want to do your best not to leave any wrinkles. This is very important.
