Bay Downs first opened its doors in 1926 under the name of Tampa Downs, and has since had a long and colorful history. There are over 50 plasma TV's and roaming tellers, so fans can watch, wager and win on all the horseracing, simulcast action, and sporting events right from the comfort of the poker tables. Tampa area are The Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs, Seminole hard Rock Casino and Lucky's Card Room. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience or advice related to these card rooms or any other ones not mentioned. We had visited the Hard Rock in Tampa, as well as the Silks Poker Room in Tampa. Both were good, lot of action and live straddles. In Tampa, they allow you to straddle from ANY position, and re-straddle. This caused a lot of pre-flop action against some of the weakest competition I've run into. Of those two poker rooms, Hard Rock was better in many ways and much more popular. The Isle in Pompano Beach and the Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek. We weren't very impressed with the Seminole casino, but the Isle was the best out of all 4. It is by far the nicest poker room in Florida, filled with action and many games and tournaments. Straddles are only permitted from UTG and the Button, which many players chose to utilize.

The guys were a little younger, dressed in more street gear than suburban dad attire. I could see it was a much more moneyed operation, though with the same fluorescent lighting and casual attire.
