Paradise Beach Resort & Casino also pays homage to its name for its striking interior gardens and the "homey feeling".This has to be the worst all inclusive resort ever. My room smelled moldy and was outdated. The hotel grounds were worn out and tired. The only redeeming factor was the kindness of the employees. The TV was so fuzzy that it wasn't watchable. The AC only works if you're in the room. The pool area was dirty. The hotel grounds were worn out and tired. The only redeeming factor was the kindness of the employees. The "VIP" club employees constantly try to sell you a "package" of trips The food in the restaurant is the same as at the buffet and is gross. I ordered the calamari app and it came with 4 fried calamari rings. The seafood entree was 2 muscles and a chewy pile of squid strips in a mushroom/ beef gravy. You would think that a resort on the ocean would have access to fresh fish. The restroom in the restaurant was broken so patrons had to use the pool bathroom. The hotel advertises that it has a casino but during my stay they basically shut it down with no intent to reopen. There were chains on the door and tarps over the slot machines. The night club was also closed. The property is VERY dark at night and could use some lights. There was a strong scent of sewage on the path from the lobby to the main housing building. The lock on the safe in my room was missing. The beach was dirty and has cigarette butts on it. DO NOT STAY HERE. Don't ruin your vacation just to save $10 per night. The staff - from the reception to the maid service and bar and restaurant service I have no complaints everyone was very friendly and helpful. They kept us laughing, playing and dancing during our entire stay. There are only 2 a la carte restaurants but they are very good and the main buffet has great food. Seafood, fish, steaks, chicken and more everything was tender and flavourful. Kudos to the chefs. The rooms were simple but very clean. The beach fantastic. We were there during low season so finding shade was never an issue - it may be more difficult come high season. The pool was clean and there is an overhang from building so there is always a bit of shade while sitting at the pool bar. The beach vendors - can be annoying at times but don't let them chase you away from the beach. My friend and I took turns saying no. Tip: do not engage in conversation otherwise you can't shake them. But they are respectful when you say no. The vacationing Dominicans, yes they vacation at this resort on weekends. I was able to get internet from my room but I was close to the hot spot. I am not sure how long this will last. They were in the process of changing providers. The check-in staff is very friendly and they welcome you with spanish, english and even german. They do a very great job every day. Hint: Turn your air conditioner on in the afternoon and the room will be nicely cool when you go to sleep and will stay cool until early morning. For the à la carte restaurants you have to make reservations which is no bother at all. It's very easy and reliable. Dominican Republic are also using this hotel for a weekend trip, so you have to expect that it is more crowded than during the week. Hint: The weekend is perfect for eating at the à la carte restaurants so you can avoid the crowd at the buffet. The ocean is very calm then and you get the chance for amazing photos. At the beach you get the chance to buy a lot of souvernirs from people going up and down along the beach. If you don't want anything a simple "no thank you" is enough and they won't bother you any longer. The staff was very good. The main restaurant was great didn't try Michaelangelo did tried Eden and were not impressed. The staff was very good. The vendors on the beach could be annoying but we grew to dealing with them, if you don't want to be bother you can just say no thanks. The entertainment was a little cheesy but fun, activities by the pool were lots of laugh. Birkis one of the entertainers was very attentive to young and old. Casinos nearby were nice but small. Buffet ok, one meat and one fish each night with exactly same sides every time. Ala cartes were good but didnt like having to pay $22 pp for the better meals at Italian. Drinks not that great, different every time, way too strong.
