On arrival our passports were taken and we were sat in the lounge while the booking-in was completed , presented with cool towels to refresh ourselves and soft drinks with a dish of fruit. The booking was completed very quickly. We stayed in the Cocotal Beach resort , there are two resorts joined together and they share the same facilities. We were in the main building, close to shops and the main buffet restaurants and found our room (CA - first floor) to be quiet with an out look over the trees. My wife would have preferred the Tropical suites side of the resort but we soon found we had advantages of avoiding the odd down pour as our route to the buffets was undercover. Our room had yet to be renovated ( about 80% of the rooms had been completed) but work had started on the roof sections (still quiet) and the room was clean, cool and spacious. On the occasion we needed maintenance we found them quick to resolve and complete the repair. The management group and 'Team Gigi' of the concierges did a lot to make our stay as pleasant as possible from drinks and fruit in our room , cocktail evening on the lawn to beach side lobster meals.
