spirit mountain casino poker review

Description

Some good players but plenty of bad, real bad. Last night the average effective stacks were about 200 BB with several around 300 and 350. I was told they get $2/$5 NL thay plays uncapped on Fridays, but am at PDX waiting for my flight back to the east coast. You can also find here poker player profiles, tournament poker results, poker rules, poker strategy articles, poker books, poker magazines, poker tools and poker training resources. If you are dependable and put forth the effort to be a good employee you will see success. Advancement can be tricky, due to a tribal preference - but overall you can move and continue building your skills after six months in the current position. A lot of part time positions do move into full time as people move positions or the needs of the company changes. Just be sure to put your desired shift, days off and want to be full time in as soon as you begin in your department. Management is failing to support this department. Officials higher up the food chain are making decisions for the cage with little knowledge or care of how it will effect the department. The hardest part of the job were ever changing policies and procedures. Also over the past few months there is less care about the guests and more focused on making the tribe money. The most enjoyable part of the job was dealing with the public and making lasting friendships.A typical work day at Spirit Mountain Casino included an eight day shift. My work at Spirit Mountain taught me improved customer service skills. Took inventory of products and what needed to be ordered and made for the day in order to keep the kitchen running. One coworker helped me three out of five days a week, otherwise I was on my own. Day shift was amiable, but swing shift was very difficult to work with. I learned to multi-task, new recipes and techniques to efficiently create product. Same mistreatment of people all in the name of money.A pretty good company to work for. Since it's a Casino it different from your average companies, great benefits. You can apply for different positions through out the whole company so advancement is great. You busy days and not so busy days.I work in a fast pace environment. I work on slot machines, give change to guests that need thier bills exchanged. Call in Jackpots, count out Jackpots to guests, fix minor malfunctions of machines. Give empathy towords guests that are upset about loosing thier money or a payout with a machine. The hardest part of my job is the inconsistancies and poor communication on managments levels towords employees. Very hard to move up in management. Tribal is sought out first over anyone even if they have zero experiance weather it's supervisor, to HR. I enjoy working with my coworkers and seeing our regular guests. The most enjoyable part of my job is paying out jackpots to guests. Constant whining about the "budget" in spite of increasing revenues each year. Pitiful compensation and raises that are a joke.I am not sure who is actually reviewing this place to work but my guess is it is the management. Everyone I had worked with in this place was miserable and had the same basic complaints. The management I am guessing was trained in how to make their employees feel worthless so that they believe they can't find a better job. Management constantly threatened employees with loss of jobs, write ups and humiliation in front of co workers. We were here several years ago and it seemed fine. This year we stopped and were not impressed. Staff seemed uninterested in helping anyone. Even some of the customers seemed to be kind of rude. Machines were tight to say the least. One person said if you could find a machine that paid, it would be your lucky day, we didn't find that machine. We had planned to stay here for a couple of hours but cut our visit to half an hour. Didn't eat here or sign up for the players club. Not sure if we would even stop if driving by.I have went to this casino once in awhile for many years. The last time i was there I heard so many of the supervisors not treating their employees with respect. I was surprised. I overheard a couple of the employees talking about the working conditions and how abusive it can be to work there. I can not spend money at a place that I know treats their employees so poorly. I always seem to win, well it depends on what others consider winning. They have done nothing but continue to improve over the last several years. The Buffet is the best by far of any of the other Oregon Casinos. We are constantly receiving promotions and lodging specials. The staff is always helpful and accommodating. Win or lose we always have a great time at Spirit Mountain.I've been visiting Spirit Mountain since they opened. No, I don't play only large denominations. Some of the funds are being used to give away some larger prizes such as Roll for a Million and Ring of Riches, where one of a few lucky drawings are rewarded. I personally would rather have some more payout on the slots and skip the drawings. They are too crowded to make me comfortable so I rarely come on those days just because it's like walking in the middle of a cattle drive. They listen and adjust.I've never had any problems at the hotel except once when the rooms were not cleaned and ready for check-in because cleaning staff didn't show up, however I was comped an upgrade and everyone made sure I was satisfied and comfortable.
