Two freshwater pools, two whirlpools, a children's pool, and the pristine beach provide plenty of space to unwind. With the acception of one waitress and two bartenters, (housekeeping was fine) the staff are terribly under-motivated and in some cases rude. The food all started to taste the same. The hotel is not close to anything. Since they drive on the left side of the road we were reluctant to rent a car. So the two times we took the shuttle or taxi, it was very expensive to go a few miles. Thank goodness Divi is an all inclusive, there are NO other places to eat anywhere close. Snorkeling from the Divi Carina beach is good however you have to swim a long distance to get to the reef. The bugs are out of control. Don't know if coming home covered in bug bites were the "noseesums" and/or bed bugs. Bug spray more important than sunscreen. Due to recent closing of the refinery, the crime rate is increasing. Wouldn't venture too far from hotel especially after dark. We made the best of it and enjoyed just being on vacation and on a beach - but this will NOT be a destination to be repeated. Kids are enjoying the interactive cooking experience, and the meal is delicious. St. Croix’s most successful annual events, “A Taste of St. Croix” takes place each April at Divi, as do weddings, family reunions, company retreats and team getaways. The property layout simply lends itself beautifully to memorable events. For the couple wanting to elope, or the couple that comes with 600 close friends (and every sized group in between), the in-house Minister, attention to detail, and Divi’s stunning location come together as the perfect setting for your St. Croix wedding. We will work hard to meet and exceed your expectations as our guest. I would like to thank the employees at the Divi, they are the only reason we didn't walk out of the hotel when we arrived. I'll outline facts as opposed to opinion so you can make your own judgement. Our phone didn't work, the shower was broken and the rooms were worn and filled with patches/holes. The drinks were made very well, the food at the one restaurant open was ok. Service - the employees keep this place afloat. They were more than accommodating and went out of their way to help us with what ever they could. The issue at hand is they can only do as much as the company alows. Without the companies support they can only do so much. Beach/Pool - the beach was cleaned and groomed daily. The smell was terrible. It smelt lie low tide every day. This is not cause the didn't clean it but instead cause of the hotels location. The pool was clean most of the time but had quite a bit floating in it daily. Again the core infrastructure of the room was an issue. No lock, no phone. The food was really good, we ate too much every day. The staff was very congenial, even the cleaning ladies always had a "good morning". We felt very welcomed. The staff at the restaurants was very accommodating, friendly and spent time talking to us when they could. We met some really great people - from Divi and from the States that were vacationing also. We spent an hour at the spa getting a Swedish massage and didn't want to leave. The women there really knew what they were doing. We spent some time in Christiansted - shopping, sight seeing, and just talking to the locals. We never ran into a rude or miserable person. Everyone always had a smile, a hello or a great story to tell. We would highly recommend Divi if you just need to get away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just need to relax. A few suggestions would be to add additional Bar / Wait staff. Those we had were great, (Curtis, Chris, Donna, Marlin) but one bartender for an all inclusive resort is not practical. One evening it rained so hard the outdoor dinning had to be closed, they tried to accomidate everyone inside, but only had one waitress, Donna, who was literally "running" trying to serve everyone. Management needs to consider adding additional staff. Also, swimming pool is in dire need of repairs. We would not even consider swimming in it. Beach was nice, clean, and not crowded at all. Bar / Wait service on the beach would also be a great asset to the hotel.

There was a strong scent of sewage on the path from the lobby to the main housing building. Some of those options include a children’s pool (shallower than a normal pool), a children’s club, a playground and an arcade room filled with games to enjoy.

The grounds are well kept and there is plenty of room to mingle with other guests or enjoy some alone time. It's especially fun for children. The beach also has a good lunch menu and tables on the beach.
