Whether you’re coming or going, a stop at Gold Ranch always means great tasting food at prices that won’t bust your budget. Before you hit the long road ahead, enjoy a delicious sit-down meal at the Sierra Cafe. It features an extensive menu of reasonably priced, sumptuous choices. Long spaces with grassy areas in between. FHU cable and wifi. In the past, the wifi was not free, causing us to downgrade the rating. Now the wifi is free, but we could not get it to work. We were at the back of the park, so it could be a proximity issue, but still the wifi needs work. Verizon signal was strong. Easy on and off freeway, although there is a bit of congestion and a short distance to travel. Suggest googling the road to be familiar with it before entering. Neither the train or road noise was significant enough to bother us. We did not use the pool or spa, but it snowed while we were there. Also the rear of the property, is actually in California, so there is a California Lottery store there as well. Easy drive to Reno and corresponding activities. In my view this may possibly be the best RV Park in the Reno/Sparks area unless you are looking for full scale casinos which Gold Ranch doesn't offer. Only suggestion that I have for this park (and others) is that the hookups be better placed for motor homes and not cater to only the 5th wheelers. In other words, a more forward post would be better (and no, I am not buying a 50amp extension cord to fix this.) Despite this I am still giving this place a 9 and it is great for a night or two and a stopover. Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino & in a Motorhome.A good, convenient park approximately 10 miles from downtown Reno. Easy access from interstate 80. Parking pad asphalt with grass lawn. They water the grass frequently so it was green in the high desert country. Nighttime security patrolled frequently. Fairly quiet park even though close to the interstate. Follow the signs and directions from the Park website. There is grass at each site and the park is well maintained. Reno Casino's . The park is nothing special with no special activities in the park. However it is associated with a Casino which has a nice Restaurant, Gas Station, Jack in the Box fast food and a convenient store. The park sits on the Nevada, California state line. You can walk from one camp site to another and cross state lines. Lottery Tickets. The park has full hookup service and 50 amp. The park is in a great location if you are wanting to visit some old western towns and include some history (Donner Pass) We camp here in a 40 ft Class "A" Motor Home. Absolutely no problems. Paved roads in the park. Great first impression. Friendly people in the park. Unfortunately the showers and bathrooms were quite dirty late in the afternoon. Dryers took an hour and a half. There seem to be quite a few permanent people in the park which is ok, but some have definitely bent the rules. The park is close to the interstate, but we did not hear any traffic noise. The sites are paved, and each one has a grassy area and shade tree. The park is very clean and tidy, and the view of the surrounding hills is beautiful. Paved extra long, extra wide sites with lots of trees, grass and the view is the best. The park is well layed out so easy in and out with the bigger rigs and tows. Wifi work well. No freeway noise. Services next to the campground. Office staff was pleasant, helpful and friendly. City is an independent directory and information service free of any gaming operator's control. Today was a propane and grocery run to Reno, then back to our quiet campsite. The African animal exhibit was in the center of the store and drew much attention from the Cabela's customers. You can also see Northstar ski area in the far distant mountain. It promises to be a nice warm week. We need it because I need to make a slide repair this week. It seems the gear moving the slide needs to be replaced. My Son Ben and his wife Kim brought my granddaughter, Chloe Grace into the world today. Chloe has been perfectly happy with her new parents and with her grandfather. Chloe. All toes are present and just look at the contentment of this little girl. Can you believe all that hair, she has more hair than I do. I think I heard her mutter "GranPapa" just before she closed her eyes to snooze. Gold Ranch Casino in Verdi near Reno is still the only casino near Reno that has a coupon in the ACG. Be sure to use the $5 food credit in the restaurant. Gold Ranch Casino is the first casino you will come across entering Nevada from California (or the last leaving Nevada). It has a big gas station and a nice coffee shop. The casino itself is small. RV park is very good. Well maintained and clean. The casino has a good restaurant with inexpensive specials (you need to get a free player's card at the cashier's cage). Separate coffee shop and well stocked convenience store.
